Miranda Pender

Miranda specialises in quirky, colourful artwork, and enjoys experimenting with a cubist approach to line and form. She works in coloured pencil for its precision, and ability to produce a rich, blendable depth of colour. Ink outlines emphasise shapes while softening edges, giving a luminous, stained-glass effect.

Her collection of ‘Sweetscapes’ playfully re-imagines fruit and confectionery as landscape. Some elements hint at recognisable edible treats; others dissolve into pure abstraction.

Miranda exhibits widely and participates in Dorset Art Weeks; her artwork has sold to collectors in the UK and overseas. She was born in London and spent most of her life in Essex, where for several years she chaired Saffron Walden Arts Trust. In 2018 she moved to Sherborne where she shares a studio with her husband, Mark, which is open to visitors by arrangement.

She is also a singer and songwriter, entertaining audiences with a selection of musical talks.
