Bruton Art Society’s 72nd Annual Exhibition

With just over 3 months to go until our 72nd Annual Art Exhibition at the Memorial Hall, King’s Bruton, the Committee is pleased to announce that the “Call for Entries” will open on Friday 2nd May, with the deadline of Midnight 20th June.
We are continuing to use the OESS ( Open Exhibition Selection Services ) online system; a simple process which most artists find very straightforward. OESS will give you guidance if needed.
The following link will take you to the Bruton Art Society’s part of the OESS website: https://brutonartsociety.oess1.uk where you can upload your entries. The link will also be available on the Bruton Art Society website.
The number of submissions per member remains at 5 with a fee of £9 per submission.
Please make sure you read all the relevant details in the Terms and Conditions: the submission sizes and restrictions in particular:
Entries must be less than 120cm in any one direction including the frame. However, A REMINDER! If a piece of work is over 70cm in any one direction including the frame, please reduce your submission by 1 for example (from 5 to 4) Likewise for any further pieces over 70cm.
Unframed (box) canvasses must have a minimum depth of 3.8cm
The Society reserves the right to refuse work on delivery should the frame be substandard.
Our selection panel ( 4 Committee members and two External Professional Artists ), will make their pre-selection online and the ‘Preselection Notice to Artists’ will be available on the OESS site on the 1st July ( you must remember to log in ).
We will receive those preselected works at the Memorial Hall on Saturday the 9th August (individual times TBA)
We will not be accepting work by hand again this year. However, we want to make sure that no exhibiting member is excluded from entering their work, so there is a helpline telephone number and email for those who find it impossible either to photograph their work or to submit online or who do not have computer access at all. Committee members are standing by to help.
