Mark Pender

Mark Pender

Originally from Bath, Mark moved back to the West Country in 2017 after over thirty years in London so he is a relatively new member of Bruton Art Society.

Mark has been painting and exhibiting for many years. He participated in Dorset Art Weeks in 2018 by opening the studio which he shares with his wife, Miranda, in Sherborne. His work has found its way as far afield as Australia, Canada, France, South Africa and Letchworth.

Mark paints mainly in oils but sometimes in acrylic or other media, as can be seen from his work on this website. Some of his work is whimsical or humorous, often based on fairy tales or fable, but in 2018 he concentrated on landscapes and views, mostly inspired by the beauty of the West Country. He is very happy to take (interesting) commissions such as past commissions for illustrations for a child’s book or portraits in oil of a friend’s five horses.
