Jenny will look at early examples of artists who have made ice and snow a subject since at least the 15th century when winter scenes began appearing in illuminated books of hours. She will show Breughel; take in the much loved Skating Minister, Japanese prints and some Impressionist, Post Impressionist and early C20th works, ending with the contemporary artists Peter Doig and Andy Goldsworthy.
