Try Silk Painting with Margaret Kelly
Silk Painting. Create Something Beautiful
For years BAS member Margaret Kelly has been teaching individuals and classes how to produce stunning paintings on silk and she will be running two one day courses at Bayford Village Hall on June 14th and 15th 10 am to 4 pm. She provides expert tuition and all the materials you will need for £40 for each day. Beginners are welcome and participants are often amazed at what they are able to produce.

A large group of Bruton Art Society Members and friends came to hear a fascinating lecture by Alexandra Drysdale on the colour blue and its use in art from the Egyptians to the present day. An accomplished NADFAS lecturer, Alexandra is both an artist and an art historian. In this talk she brought together considerable learning with practical experience to cover this most important topic.

Clancy Steer Talk 50 Years of Stage and costume Design
A lecture by Clancy for the Bruton Art Society
Deirdre Clancy Steer, known professionally as Clancy, has played a key role in the development of modern theatre costume design, winning two awards for her work, the Olivier Award for Best Stage Costume Design and the BAFTA for Best Film Costume Design for her work on the film Mrs Brown, starring Judi Dench and Billy Connoll. She has worked on over 140 productions in Europe, North America, Japan and Australia. She has designed innumerable productions at the Royal National Theatre.
